Wade's First Cardinals Game

A friend of mine gave us tickets to a suite for the July 21 game against the Phillies.  We weren't sure if Wade would be ready for the bleachers this season so we jumped at the chance to take him to a game in a more "comfortable" environment.  (Room for the stroller plus air conditioning!)
Ryan and I enjoyed the free nachos, hot dogs, and dessert while Wade enjoyed his formula.
He even found time for a quick cat nap, though most of the time the noise of the game distracted him too much.  We only stayed until  9 p.m. but heard later that the Cardinals did get a win for Wade's first game.

Wade's First Visit to Indiana

I scheduled myself to work at a physician job fair in Indianapolis, so that we'd have an excuse to visit the Emsleys.  Wade did well with the 4-hour drive and slept great at their house.  He's a big hit with his cousins, who showed him off to all their neighborhood friends.
On Sunday we visited the Indiana State Museum.  So far Wade doesn't like museums as much as his dad, but he tolerated it well.

After visiting the museum, we walked along the canal to a chocolate shop for some delicious ice cream.

We took Wade swimming at the subdivision pool.  Here he is with his Auntie Chris.

Wade liked listening to Uncle Brett play the guitar and enjoyed it even more when his mom and aunt danced along.  He was kicking and moving a lot in his bouncer seat.

3 Months Old

Wade is three months old today!  He has been enjoying eating his hands for the last three weeks or so.
He also practices his tummy time.  Today he flipped over from his tummy to his back for the first time.
Wade is usually in a good mood and smiles often.  He's also sleeping through the night, which we love!

Wade's First Vacation

Wade, Ryan, and I spent the weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks with our friends, the Woods and Haarmanns.  Wade was still a little young for too much fun, but he was a pretty easy baby all weekend and adjusted well to being and sleeping in a new place.
Wade didn't get to go on the boat and only spent a few minutes in the water.  He didn't mind it, but it was difficult to keep him balanced in his raft while treading water.  He spent most of the weekend indoors.
When Wade is a little older he will have lots of friends to play with!

Everyone had a fun time!

Swimming Fun

Wade had his first outing to the pool yesterday.  He kept his eyes shut most of the time and appeared to be sleeping, but I think it was the brightness of the sun that was bothering him.  It was also a very hot day.  He didn't seem to mind being in the pool water, which makes sense since he does fine with baths.  I'm sure he will love the pool eventually but I think it'll be another year before that happens.

He looked very cute in his new swimwear but his hat is still too big!

8 Weeks Old & Growing Fast

This week marked my return to work and the start of Ryan's summer vacation.  All things considered, it's going pretty well for me.  Of course, I would like to be home with them but luckily I enjoy my job and the people that I work with.  It's also nice to be back on a schedule again.

Wade had his 8-week checkup with the doctor. He's in the >97th percentile on everything (height, weight, head circumference). And if you're really curious - he is actually weighing in at 17 pounds, 3 ounces. So much for yet another size of baby clothes! He had a rough time the evening of his vaccinations but the infant tylenol helped and he's been fine since.
This picture is from when Wade was 6 weeks old.  A little out of date already!  It's hard to keep up!

Anyway, we're doing great and I'm looking forward to my first weekend as a working mom.

Wade Meets His Cousins & Uncle

Chris, Brett, Connor, and Evan came to town this past weekend so that they (with the exception of Auntie Chris) could meet Wade for the first time.  Wade spent about 12 hours at Grandma and Grandpa's house, between our visit and them babysitting while Ryan and I went to a 30th birthday party.  (Happy Birthday Cheryl!)  Everyone enjoyed Wade's smiles and I just had to post a photo of his huge smile at Grandma.
